recently, superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in south africa. he bought a custom made safari hat at his favorite milliner in cologne (ju&#776,rgen eifler) and set off with big eyes and a pair of binoculars. it was wild and wonderful and he saw many exotic (and big!) animals, even a leopard in a tree that told him the secret of the universe. he forgot what the leopard said because his mind was still playing and replaying the sound of what he heard on the first night of his arrival Ð the hypnotic and moving sound of the voices of africa, the voices of the wonderful tanda tula staff choir. there, the choir members work during the day at the camp and at night entertain the guests with their captivating voices and energetic dancing. so impressed was he with their songs and beautiful shangaan language that he decided to record a cd for them to sell in the shop at their camp and now this precious recording is also available through hippie dance / bush recordings on vinyl and cd for you in whatever wherever camp you are. the lp of the tanda tula choir comes with a very pretty poster.

through the sparkle is a collaboration between french ensemble astr�d and american pianist and composer rachel grimes. rachel grimes is best known for her chamber music project rachelÕs, a hugely influential group formed in 1991 in louisville, kentucky, releasing six studio albums between 1995 and 2005. she has also released a string of contemporary classical works in recent years on labels such as temporary residence. astr�d is a collective of four musicians based in nantes, releasing records on rune grammofon and home normal. after years of mail and email back and forth over the ocean, from nantes to kentucky, astr�d invited rachel to come for a residency to make music together and play shows in france. they gathered for a few days, here and there, in 2012 and 2013 to write songs in cyril and vanina s home studio in the countryside.

sweet addiction is yuksekÕs great studio comeback. its 5 elegant tracks signal his return as a main player. the maxi, which prefigures a 3rd album, features the greek singer monika (make it easy) and the duo her (on the1st single, sweet addiction). yuksekÕs characteristic sound, midway between post-disco, house and pop, shines through on its various tracks. even more than on his last album, living on the edge of time, yuksek shows his talent as a singer. his new melodies are sunnier than before, his beats and production more subtle. airy, but still conveying a touch of hedonism in its most club-friendly sounds, this ep is a foretaste of a sparkling new opus. bio : at the start of the 2000s, yuksek released a series of maxis and then two albums: away from the sea (2009) and living on the edge of time (2011).those records laid the foundations of a sound that uncompromisingly combined pop, disco and electro. then in 2013, he set up his own label: partyfine. it is now home to artists such as clarens, weekend affair, get a room!, jean tonique, juveniles,tepr and villa.

it was fitting that brazilian-born, austria-based artist joyce muniz broke through in an era characterised by the cross-pollination and globalisation of music. initially combining the sounds and rhythms of her home country with contemporary european electronic sounds, she later morphed into a house / techno producer of the highest calibre. along the way she worked with the likes of maya jane coles and viennese legends kruder & dorfmeister and released on influential imprints like 2020 vision and shir khanÕs exploited. itÕs the latter which has been her main platform for releasing music since 2011 and where she now unleashes her full-length debut album, made in vienna.

Òvibe telemetryÓ is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to house, disco and techno, prior to knowing what it actually was: ambiguous, euphoric, mystical and melancholic. sonic and physical experiences, which names and origins were yet to be discovered.
